Some time ago I happened to be bored... and what did bored me do? I taught myself how to put on make up (I only tried it once before with the help of a friend). So I picked up the bag of make up that my mother and grandmother gave me years ago and, as a woman, I felt very embarrassed that I had little to no idea of what half of it's content was for.
Some research later and I'm putting on foundation and a completely random question popped in my mind: "What if I was blind one day?" quickly followed by "If I can't see well and have no experience putting on make up... will I ever put it on?"
So here I got this idea: an app that helps matching make up with our skin (and facial features) that promotes diversity and highlights eco-friendly brands
User stories
"When I'm buying make up, I want to have the shades and colours that look the best on me so that I can be confident in myself"
"I want to know if I put on the right eyeshadow, so that I can put it on easier"
"When I buy something I want to compare the different options and how they'll look on me. So I can make the right choices"
"I'm trying make up for the first time, where do I put it and how do I chose the palette?"

Little trad from my chicken-scratch handwriting:
"Home goes in Photo matching (photo-photo to query results), Products, Settings (with helps, wish list and show only?) and Add-ons library"
"Add-ons ideas: make up placement filter, nearest shop hours, shared collections (with friends), lgbt+ community help, skincare tips and products..."
"Business wise = Tint?Match! gets discounts and sponsored ads from brands (if business values align), each bought product from the app adds up a percentage in affiliate codes"
Does it make sense? still no? Of course not they're notes and ideas, they'll make sense later on

Settings/preferences

A little zoom on Preferences:
There are 2 important helps: voice navigation (reads aloud ask questions if an action is required) and high contrast (you'll see it later)
After that there is a wish list, a collection of products* saved for later
Underneath there is what I call "Values" they are criteria from which some product might be suggested over others (for exemple "I only want vegan products so I select the "vegan only option and now all products shown to me are vegan!")
* You might see (if you have a good eye) a few dots below each product: they're a quick look at available shades
The camera function has multiple settings for tint matching:
- match from a photo and a product name
- split screen between the front and back camera for quick matching
- match between two photos (made one after the other)
the last one (since there are two photos) needs it's own sequence of actions as shown here >

Each product page has a small column of available shades/colours. among those there could be one or two that are highlighted, those correspond to previous or new matching queries, in other words : they match with your skin!
N.B. You might have noticed a camera icon right on top of the shades: said camera gives the option to "try on" the product thanks to a filter, it might not be perfect but can give an idea in order to make a better choice
A high contrast palette! (I think?)
(of course on the colourblind design I never paired the orange and pink, the colours are too similar to not be confusing
